What is Reiki?

Your body already knows how to heal itself. You've seen this in action every time a cut closes, a bruise fades, or you recover from illness. Reiki works with this innate wisdom—supporting and accelerating your body's own natural healing processes.


Think of it this way: when you're stressed, anxious, or dealing with accumulated tension, your system gets stuck in survival mode. Energy gets blocked, muscles stay tight, inflammation persists, and your body can't access its natural ability to restore balance. Reiki helps clear these energetic roadblocks so your system can return to its optimal state.


During a session, I use gentle, hands-on (or hands-off) techniques to help your body shift from stress response to healing mode. It's like removing the dam so water can flow freely again. Your body does the healing—Reiki simply creates the conditions for that healing to happen more efficiently.

What to Expect

Before Your Session:

  • We'll have a conversation about what's happening for you physically, emotionally, and situationally

  • You'll share what you'd like support with—whether that's stress relief, physical discomfort, emotional processing, or general wellness

  • I'll explain what to expect based on your specific needs

  • All information remains confidential

 

During Your Session (60-90 minutes):

 

  • You'll lie comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed

  • Gentle music creates a calming environment

  • I work systematically, placing hands lightly on or above areas where energy typically gets blocked

  • Your only job is to relax and let your body do what it needs to do

  • Many people fall asleep—this is perfect, it means your nervous system feels safe enough to shift into deep healing mode

  • Some people experience insights, emotional releases, or physical sensations as blocks clear

 

After Your Session:

 

  • We'll discuss what you experienced and what shifted

  • I'll offer guidance for supporting your body's continued healing over the next few days

  • You may feel deeply relaxed, energized, emotional, or clear-headed—these are all signs your body is

  • recalibrating

  • Drink plenty of water to support the clearing process
